- Reports directly to the Executive Chef
- Checks daily menus and function sheets and forecasts, to determine the kind and quantity of pastries and desserts to prepare.
- Is aware of the cost factor involved in production.
- Offers guidance, support and professional advice to junior kitchen staff.
- Provides functional assistance and direction to the kitchen operation as assigned.
- Ensures cleanliness and maintenance of the work area at all times.
- Makes suitable suggestion to the Executive Chef for the purchase of suitable supplies.
- Inspects on a daily basis the buffet display, morning and afternoon tea set up. - - Ensures the freshness and presentation are within the guidelines of the hotel policy and standards or as determined by the Executive Chef.
- Makes every effort to become a valuable team member.
- Is aware of the required work schedule and always gives adequate notice when circumstances prevent him / her from adhering to that schedule.
-Must maintain privacy of all hotel information.
